Requests for proposals and evaluations

ETSA Utilities follows a process prescribed by the Essential Services Commission of South Australia (ESCOSA) called Guideline 12 – Demand Management For Electricity Distribution Networks (GL12). This process details the steps that ETSA Utilities must follow when assessing a project with an estimated cost of greater than $2 million. It is described in the annual Demand Management Compliance Report.

When we have determined that there is potential scope for a Demand Management solution to a network constraint we issue a 'Request for Proposals' (RFP). This document invites comments and proposals for solutions to the network problem from all market participants, registered parties and the general public.

Registered interested parties are sent an email informing them of a new RFP on this page of the website. Register as an interested party (a free service) or view the Register of interested parties.

Following the closing of the consultation period, usually six months from date of publication, all complying proposals, including ones received from interested parties, are evaluated according to the rules published by ESCOSA in GL12. The evaluation report describing the options developed and scenarios considered in determining the recommended option is published, typically within three months of the closure date.

Once the evaluation report has been prepared it replaces the RFP document on this page. Previous Evaluation Reports / RFP’s are listed below by year of publication.
